Dutch cookies

Ingredients:
2 cupAll-purpose flour
1/8 tspSalt
1 cupButter or margarine
1 cupBrown sugar
1 tspVanilla
1 Egg yolk
1 Egg white, slightly beaten
1/4 cupSugar
1/2 tspCinnamon, ground
3/4 cupAlmonds, sliced
Procedures:
1Stir together flour and salt.
2In a large mixer bowl, beat butter or margarine with electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds.
3Add brown sugar and vanilla; beat until fluffy.
4Add egg yolk; beat until well combined.
5Stir dry ingredients into sugar mixture, mixing well pat batter evenly in a ungreased 15 x 10 x 1" baking pan.
6Brush top with beaten egg white.
7Combine sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle evenly over top.
8Sprinkle almonds over all.
9Bake in 350 degree oven for 15 to 18 minutes or until light brown.
10Cut into 1 ? diamonds while warm.
11Cool in pan.
12Remove from pan with spatula.
