Ingredients:
PASTRY
1/3 cupSugar
1/3 cupButter
1 tbspShortening
1/2 tspVanilla
1 cupFlour
FILLING
5 Apples, winesap, golden
-delicious, Granny Smith
8 ozCream cheese, room temp
1/4 cupSugar
1 Egg
1/2 tspGrated lemon peel
1/4 tspVanilla
1/8 tspSalt
Cinnamon sugar
1/2 cupSliced almonds
Procedures:
1Pastry: cream sugar, butter, shortening and vanilla.
2Blend in flour and pat into bottom and 1 ?inches up sides of greased 9 inch spring form pan.
3Place in 400f oven for 15 minutes.
4Pare and slice apples to make 1 quart (4 cups).
5Filling: beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, lemon peel, vanilla and salt until smooth.
6Pour over pastry.
7Top with apple slices, cinnamon sugar and nuts.
8Bake at 400f for 40 minutes
