| tsp | Vanilla | | 1

| | Apples, winesap, golden | | | -delicious, Granny Smith | | 8
| oz | Cream cheese, room temp | | 1/4
| cup | Sugar | | 1
| | Egg | | 1/2
| tsp | Grated lemon peel | | 1/4
| tsp | Vanilla | | 1/8
| tsp | Salt | | | Cinnamon sugar | | 1/2
| cup | Sliced almonds |

Procedures:
| 1 | Pastry: cream sugar, butter, shortening and vanilla. | | 2 | Blend in flour and pat into bottom and 1 ?inches up sides of greased 9 inch spring form pan. | | 3 | Place in 400f oven for 15 minutes. | | 4 | Pare and slice apples to make 1 quart (4 cups). | | 5 | Filling: beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, lemon peel, vanilla and salt until smooth. | | 6 | Pour over pastry. | | 7 | Top with apple slices, cinnamon sugar and nuts. | | 8 | Bake at 400f for 40 minutes |
