Ingredients:
1/2 lbsBoneless beef sirloin steak
-- cut ?inch thick
1 tspVegetable oil
1/8 tspSalt
1/8 tspGround white pepper
1/2 cupSliced fresh mushrooms
1/2 cupSnow peas
1/2 cupDiagonally sliced celery
1/4 cupSliced green onions
1/4 cupRed pepper strips
1 tspMinced fresh ginger
1 tspCornstarch
1 tbspSoy sauce
1 cupHot cooked rice
Procedures:
1Cut beef diagonally across grain into 1/8-inch slices.
2Heat oil in wok or medium skillet over medium-high heat.
3Add beef and seasonings and stir-fry until beef is browned.
4Add vegetables and stir-fry until vegetables are tender crisp.
5Blend ginger, cornstarch, soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon water in small bowl; add to beef and cook, stirring, until sauce is thickened.
6Serve over rice.
7Microwave oven instructions =========================== cut beef diagonally across grain into 1/8-inch slices.
8Combine beef, salt, pepper and oil in 1-quart baking dish.
9Cover with waxed paper and cook on high (maximum power) 1 minute.
10Stir and cook an additional 1 to 2 minutes on high.
11Remove beef and set aside.
12Add vegetables and cook on high 2 to 3 minutes or until vegetables are tender crisp.
13Blend ginger, cornstarch, soy sauce and 1 teaspoon water in small bowl.
14Add beef and cornstarch mixture to vegetables.
15Cover and cook on high power 1 minute; stir and cook 1 minute longer.
16Let stand 2 minutes.
17Serve over rice.
