Ingredients:
| 1
| large | Bunch broccoli, trimmed | | | And cut into flowerettes | | 1/2
| cup | Extra virgin olive oil | | 1/2
| cup | (1 stick) unsalted butter | | 6
| large | Garlic cloves, sliced | | | Paper thin | | 2
| tsp | Crushed red pepper flakes | | 1
| lbs | Large shell macaroni | | | Cooked |

Procedures:
| 1 | Cook broccoli to desired tenderness in lightly salted boiling water. | | 2 | Reserve 1 cup of broccoli cooking water. | | 3 | Drain remaining water from broccoli and cut into bite-size chunks; set aside. | | 4 | In a medium size saucepan; heat olive oil over medium, add garlic slices and stir until lightly and evenly browned. | | 5 | (at this point, you can remove and dicard the garlic, but i always leave it in!) add the butter, stirring until melted. | | 6 | Add red pepper flakes and simmer 3 minutes. | | 7 | Add the reserved broccoli water and simmer another minute. | | 8 | Turn off heat and stir in broccoli. | | 9 | Cover and set aside while cooking pasta. | | 10 | Place cooked pasta into large bowl. | | 11 | Pour broccoli sauce over pasta. | | 12 | Toss to coat and serve with freshly grated parmesan cheese and black pepper. | | 13 | Yum. |
