Moroccan garbanzo beans with raisins

Ingredients:
1 Onion, sliced
1 Clove garlic
1 cupDiced butternut squash
1/2 cupRaisins
1 tspGround cinnamon
15 ozGarbanzo beans (chick-peas)
1 Onion, chopped
2 tbspPeanut oil
1 cupChicken broth
1 tspGround turmeric
1/2 tspGround ginger
2 cupHot cooked rice
Procedures:
1Cook onions and garlic in oil in 3 quart saucepan, stirring frequently until tender, about 7 minutes.
2Add remaining ingredients except garbanzo beans and rice.
3Heat to boiling.
4Reduce heat.
5Cover and cook until squash is tender, about 8 minutes.
6(note: acorn squash may also be used).
7Stir in garbanzo beans.
8Serve over rice.
