Ingredients:

| | Clove garlic | | 1
| cup | Diced butternut squash | | 1/2
| cup | Raisins | | 1
| tsp | Ground cinnamon | | 15
| oz | Garbanzo beans (chick-peas) | | 1
| | Onion, chopped | | 2
| tbsp | Peanut oil | | 1
| cup | Chicken broth | | 1
| tsp | Ground turmeric | | 1/2
| tsp | Ground ginger | | 2
| cup | Hot cooked rice |

Procedures:
| 1 | Cook onions and garlic in oil in 3 quart saucepan, stirring frequently until tender, about 7 minutes. | | 2 | Add remaining ingredients except garbanzo beans and rice. | | 3 | Heat to boiling. | | 4 | Reduce heat. | | 5 | Cover and cook until squash is tender, about 8 minutes. | | 6 | (note: acorn squash may also be used). | | 7 | Stir in garbanzo beans. | | 8 | Serve over rice. |
