Ingredients:
4 cupMilk
5 cupDay-old bread cubes
1 cupSugar
8 Eggs, beaten
1/2 cupButter or margarine, melted
1/4 cupChopped dates
1/4 cupRaisins
1 tspVanilla extract
1/2 tspGround cinnamon
Ds Dash salt
Ds Dash ground nutmeg
Additional sugar, cinnamon
-and nutmeg optional
Whipped cream, optional
Procedures:
1In a large bowl, pour milk over bread.
2Add sugar, eggs, butter, dates, raisins, vanilla, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg; stir to mix well.
3Pour into a greased 13-in.
4X 9-in.
5X 2-in.
6Baking dish.
7If desired, sprinkle top with additional sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
8Bake at 350°F for 55 minutes or until golden brown and a knife inserted near the center comes ut clean.
9Serve warm with whipped cream if desired.
