Old-fashioned bread pudding

Ingredients:
1/2 cupRaisins
1/2 cupBrandy
1/4 cupButter or margarine
8 Slices day-old bread
(lightly toasted)
1 cupFirmly packed brown sugar
2 tspGround cinnamon
1/4 tspGround allspice
3 Eggs
1/4 tspSalt
1 tspVanilla extract
3 cupMilk, scanded and cooked
Procedures:
1Cover raisins with brandy; set aside.
2Spread 1-?teaspoons butter on each bread slice.
3Cut bread into 1-inch cubes; set aside.
4combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and allspice; reserve 3 teaspoons of this mixture.
5Toss bread cubes with remaining sugar mixture.
6Place half of bread cube mixture in a lightly greased 1-?quart casserole.
7Drain raisins; place half of raisins over bread cube mixture.
8Repeat layers.
9combine eggs, salt, and vanilla in a medium mixing bowl.
10Beat at medium speed of electric mixer 1 minute; gradually stir in milk.
11Pour over mixture in casserole dish; let stand 5 minutes.
12Sprinkle with reserve sugar mixture.
13bake at 325 °F for 45 to 50 minutes.
14Serve warm
