Ingredients:
1/4 cupMargarine or butter
1 tbspPacked brown sugar
1 tspWorcestershire sauce
2 largeOnions (?to 1 pound each)
Cut into fourths and sliced
2 canCondensed, (10-?ozs each)
Beef broth
2 Soup cans water
Parmesan croutons
1/4 cupMargarine or butter
3 sliceBread, cut into 1-inch
Cubes
Grated parmesan cheese
Procedures:
1Recipe by: betty crocker"s smartcook prepare parmesan croutons; reserve.
2Reduce oven temperature to 325 degrees.
3Heat margarine in 4-quart ovenproof dutch oven until melted; stir in brown sugar and worcestershire sauce.
4Toss onions in margarine mixture.
5Bake uncovered, stirring every hour, until onions are deep golden brown, about 2-?hours.
6Stir in broth and water; heat to boiling over high heat.
7Serve with parmesan croutons.
