Ingredients:

| large | Bell pepper, diced | | 3
| | Green onions, diced | | 3
| | Celery stalks, diced | | 1
| large | Tomatoes | | 1
| can | Tomato paste | | 1/8
| tsp | Garlic salt | | 1
| tsp | Red pepper | | 4
| cup | Okra, cut up | | 1
| | Chicken | | | Gumbo file' |

Procedures:
| 1 | Boil fowl until tender. | | 2 | Debone and cut into small pieces. | | 3 | Reserve broth. | | 4 | Add bell pepper, onions, celery, tomatoes, tomato paste, garlic salt, red pepper and okra to broth. | | 5 | Boil until vegetables are tender. | | 6 | Add chicken. | | 7 | Make 3 cups of thick brown gravy and add this to above cooked mixture. | | 8 | Salt to taste. | | 9 | Just prior to serving, add enough file" until mixture is slightly ropy. | | 10 | Serve hot on rice or corn bread. |
