Ingredients:
1 packRice
2 cupWater
1 packLentils
3 cupWater or broth
1 tspButter
1 smallOnion diced
1 medTomato diced
Seasoning packet
1 clGarlic, crushed
Salt and pepper to taste
Procedures:
1Rinse the rice.
2In a medium pot, bring 2 cups of wawter to a boil, then add rice.
3Return to a boil, stirring once, then reduce heat and simmer about 20 - 30 minutes, until water is absorbed.
4Rince the lentils.
5Place them in a soup pot and cover with 2-3 cups of water or broth.
6Bring liquid to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer about 30 minutes or until lentils are soft.
7in a skillet, melt butter over medium heat, add onion and tomato.
8When onion is transparent, add seasoning paket and garlic.
9(to prevent sticking, you may need to add water, a tablespoon at a time).
10Cook 1-3 minutes, until vegetables are coated and mixture is a paste.
11Add paste to lentils and stir.
12Add salt and pepper to taste.
13Serve over rice.
