Easy beef pot pie

Ingredients:
1 lbsBoneless top sirloin steak
- ?inch thick
1 tbspVegetable oil
8 ozSmall mushrooms, quartered
1 medOnion, sliced
1 Clove garlic, crushed
1/4 cupWater
12 ozJar beef gravy
10 ozPkg frozen peas & carrots
1/4 tspDried thyme leaves
4 1/2 ozCan refrigerated buttermilk
- flavored biscuits
Procedures:
1Heat oven to 400 degrees.
2Trim fat from steak.
3Cut steak lengthwise in half and then crosswise into ?inch-thick strips.
4In large ovenproof skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat until hot.
5Add beef (half at a time) and stir-fry 1 to 2 minutes or until outside surface is no longer pink.
6(do not overcook).
7Remove from skillet with slotted spoon.
8In same skillet, place mushrooms, onion, garlic and water.
9Cook and stir 3 minutes or until onion is tender.
10Stir in gravy, vegetables and thyme.
11Bring to a boil; remove from heat.
12Return beef to skillet.
13Cut biscuits in half; arrange in a ring on top of beef mixture.
14Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until biscuit topping is golden-brown.
15Note: if skillet is not ovenproof, transfer beef mixture to 9-inch-square baking pan.
16Top with biscuits and bake as recipe directs
