Ingredients:
2 lbsBeef Round Steak *
1/2 tspSalt
1/8 tspPepper
6 tbspButter
1 Large Spanish Onion **
1 tbspWater
1 1/2 tbspVinegar
1 tspPrepared Mustard
1 Bay Leaf
2 Whole Cloves
4 Canned Spiced Onions
12 Strips Pimiento
Procedures:
1* steak should be ?inch thick.
2** onion should be thickly sliced.
3~--------------------------------------------------------------------- ~-- cut steak into 4 pieces; rub with salt and pepper.
4Heat butter in large frying-pan until hot but not brown.
5Brown meat on both sides; remove to platter.
6Add sliced onions to frying-pan and fry lightly; remove from pan.
7Add water to frying-pan, scraping pan to loosen any bits of beef.
8Return meat to pan; cover with onion slices.
9Add vinegar, mustard, bay leaf and cloves.
10Cover and cook slowly 1 ?hours or until tender, turning every ?hour.
11Place steaks on serving platter.
12Remove bay leaf and cloves and place onions on platter.
13Granish each steak with 1 spiced onion and 3 pimiento strips
