| lbs | Round Boan Pot Roast | | 2
| tbsp | Shortening | | 1/2
| cup | Apple Cider | | 6
| each | Large Potatoes ** | | 8
| oz | Fresh Okra *** | | 2
| tbsp | Salt | | 1/2
| cup | Barbecue Sauce (Your Choice) | | 8
| each | Carrots, Pared * | | 2
| each | Onions, sliced |

Procedures:
| 1 | * carrots should be peeled and cut into 2-inch chunks. | | 2 | ** potatoes should be peeled and quartered. | | 3 | *** one 10 oz pkg of frozen okra can be substituted. | | 4 | Rub meat with salt. | | 5 | Melt shortening in dutch oven; add meat and cook over medium heat, turning once. | | 6 | Reduce heat; pour barbeque sauce and cider over meat. | | 7 | Cover and simmer on top of range or in 325 °F. | | 8 | Oven for 3 to 4 hours. | | 9 | Add carrots, potatoes and onions 1 ?hours before end of cookign time. | | 10 | Add okra 15 minutes before end of cooking time |
