Ingredients:
5 lbsRound Boan Pot Roast
2 tbspShortening
1/2 cupApple Cider
6 eachLarge Potatoes **
8 ozFresh Okra ***
2 tbspSalt
1/2 cupBarbecue Sauce (Your Choice)
8 eachCarrots, Pared *
2 eachOnions, sliced
Procedures:
1* carrots should be peeled and cut into 2-inch chunks.
2** potatoes should be peeled and quartered.
3*** one 10 oz pkg of frozen okra can be substituted.
4Rub meat with salt.
5Melt shortening in dutch oven; add meat and cook over medium heat, turning once.
6Reduce heat; pour barbeque sauce and cider over meat.
7Cover and simmer on top of range or in 325 °F.
8Oven for 3 to 4 hours.
9Add carrots, potatoes and onions 1 ?hours before end of cookign time.
10Add okra 15 minutes before end of cooking time
