Barley cheese soup

Ingredients:
2 cupBroccoli pieces
1 tbspSalt
3 1/2 cupWater
1 Clove garlic, minced
1 tbspChicken soup mix
1/4 tspPepper
1 cupCarrots, sliced
1 1/2 cupSkim milk
1 Onion, chopped
1/4 cupFlour
1/2 cupBarley
4 ozCheddar cheese, diced
Procedures:
1Combine all but last 3 ingredients in 3 qt pot.
2Bring to boil, then simmer 15 minutes till barley is tender.
3Mix glour into ?c milk and add.
4Add rest of milk.
5Cook about five minutes till thickened.
6Remove from heat and stir in cheese.
7Cover and let stand 3-5 minutes
