Ingredients:

| cup | Broccoli pieces | | 1
| tbsp | Salt | | 3 1/2
| cup | Water | | 1
| | Clove garlic, minced | | 1
| tbsp | Chicken soup mix | | 1/4
| tsp | Pepper | | 1
| cup | Carrots, sliced | | 1 1/2
| cup | Skim milk | | 1
| | Onion, chopped | | 1/4
| cup | Flour | | 1/2
| cup | Barley | | 4
| oz | Cheddar cheese, diced |

Procedures:
| 1 | Combine all but last 3 ingredients in 3 qt pot. | | 2 | Bring to boil, then simmer 15 minutes till barley is tender. | | 3 | Mix glour into ?c milk and add. | | 4 | Add rest of milk. | | 5 | Cook about five minutes till thickened. | | 6 | Remove from heat and stir in cheese. | | 7 | Cover and let stand 3-5 minutes |
