California garlic soup fondue

Ingredients:
40 Cloves fresh garlic, minced
3 tbspButter
2 can10 ?oz. ea chicken broth
2 canWater
1/2 cupExtra dry champagne
4 Slices French bread
4 Slices Gruyere cheese
Cayenne pepper
Minced chives
Procedures:
1Saute garlic in butter for 10 minutes, stirring often.
2Do not brown.
3Add broth, water, champagne and simmer 5 minutes.
4Toast bread.
5Ladle soup into bowls.
6Float bread on top of soup, sprinkle with cheese and bake at 475 degrees, uncovered, for 15 minutes.
7Sprinkle with cayenne and chives.
