Ingredients:
12 ozDried pinto beans
2 cupHam, diced
1 cupOnion, diced
1 tbspSeason salt
1 tbspChicken soup base
5 cupWater
1 cupCelery, chopped
1/2 cupCarrots, minced fine
2 tbspBeef soup base
1/4 tspRed pepper flakes
Procedures:
1Soak beans overnight in soda water.
2Combine all ingredients in slow cooker.
3Cook on low 8 hours or until beans are tender.
4Note: use 4 cups water for lima beans.
5Use 2 t dried vegetables in place of 1 c fresh.
6I use 1 t dried carrot tops in place of sliced fresh carrots.
