Homestyle raisin bran muffins

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cupWheat bran
1 cupButtermilk
OR 1 tb lemon juice + milk
1 cupAll-purpose flour
1 tspBaking powder
1 tspBaking soda
1/2 tspSalt
1/2 cupRaisins or dates
2/3 cupBrown sugar
1/2 cupVegetable oil
1 Egg
Procedures:
1In small bowl, stir together wheat bran and buttermilk.
2In a medium bowl, mix dry ingredients and stir in raisins.
3In a separate bowl, using an electric mixer, beat together sugar, vegetable oil and egg.
4Stir in bran mixture.
5Add to dry ingredients all at once and stir just until moistened.
6Grease muffin tins or spray paper cups.
7Bake at 400°F for 15 to 20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
8Cool tins 10-15 minutes on wire rack, then remove muffins.
