Ginger muffins

Ingredients:
1/2 cupShortening
1/2 cupSugar
1 Egg
1 cupMolasses, light preferably
3 cupAll-purpose flour
1 1/2 tspSoda
1/2 tspSalt
1 tspCinnamon
1 tspGinger
1/2 tspGround cloves
1 cupHot water
Procedures:
1Cream together shortening and sugar.
2Beat in the egg, then the molasses.
3Sift together the dry ingredients; stir into molasses mixture.
4Gradually add the hot water, beating until smooth.
5line muffin pans with paper baking cups.
6Fill 2/3 full.
7Bake at 350 °F for 20-25 minutes or till done.
8Touch lightly with finger - done if it bounces back.
