Ingredients:
1/4 cupButter -- softened
1/2 cupSugar
3 Eggs
2 cupFig preserves-mashed
-w/syrup
1 cupRolled oats, old fashioned
1 1/2 cupAll-purpose flour
2 tspBaking powder
1/2 tspBaking soda
1/2 tspSalt
ORANGE SPREAD
3 ozPkg cream cheese, softened
1/4 cupConfectioner's sugar
-sifted
2 tbspOrange juice
-frozen concentrate
Procedures:
1Cream butter and sugar.
2Add eggs and beat well after each.
3Add fig preserves with syrup.
4Stir in oatmeal and sifted flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
5Mix only enough to moisten dry ingredients.
6Bake in buttered muffin cups in preheated 375f oven for 15 - 20 minutes.
7Serve warm with orange spread.
8For orange spread, cream the cheese until light and fluffy.
9Beat in confectioner"s sugar and orange juice concentrate.
10Frost muffins.
11Serve at room temperature but keep refrigerated otherwise.
