Ingredients:
1/4 cupSugar
8 cupAll-purpose flour
1 tbspSalt
2 cupWhole Wheat flour
2 cupVeg. shortening
1 cupNon-fat dry milk
1/3 cupBaking Powder
PANCAKES
1 Egg AND
1 cupWater. Stir in
2 cupMix.
IRON SKILLET BISQUITS
1 1/2 cupMix -- in bowl
1/3 cupWater
Procedures:
1Cut shortening into dry ingredients till mixture resemblescoarse meal.
2Store in covered container.
3This keeps 6 weeks at room temperature.
4Pancakes beat 1 egg and add 1 cup water.
5Stir in 2 cups mix.
6Beat well till smooth and bake on hot griddle using ?cup for each pancake.
7(makes 8-4 inch pancakes) iron skillet bisquits place 1 ?cups mix in bowl and make well in center, adding 1/3 cup water all at once.
8Stir quickly till dough follows fork around bowl.
9Dust hands with flour and divide and shape dough into 6 individual balls.
10Pat to 3 inches.
11Heat iron skillet slowly till hot and add 1 tablespoon butter.
12Add bisquits and cook 10 min each side uncovered.
13This is my favorite pancake mix.
14Next time i make pancakes think i will try the beer as suggested by someone.
