Ingredients:
| 2
| lbs | Beef stew meat, cut in cubes | | 2
| tbsp | Shortening | | 2
| cup | Water | | 3
| tbsp | Prepared mustard | | 1
| tsp | Seasoned salt | | 6
| med | Onions, quartered | | 2
| cup | Sliced carrots | | 1/3
| cup | Water | | 3
| tbsp | Cornstarch |

Procedures:
| 1 | In a 3 quart suacepan, brown feef, half at a time, in melted shortening. | | 2 | Sprinkle with a little salt. | | 3 | Add the 2 cups of water, mustard and seasoned salt. | | 4 | Simmer covered for between 1 hour and 1 and one half hours or until meat is almost tender. | | 5 | Add onions and carrots and cook 30 minutes more or until vegetables are tender. | | 6 | Stir the 1/3 cup of water into the cornstarch and add to the stew. | | 7 | Cook and stir until the mixture is thickened and bubbly. | | 8 | Cook 1 minute more |
