Porter beef (irish)

Ingredients:
2 lbsRib steak
1 1/2 lbsOnions
1/2 lbsMushrooms
1 xSeasoned flour
10 fl ozGuinness or other stout
10 fl ozStock or water
1 xPinch of nutmeg
1 xSalt and pepper
1 xFat for frying
Procedures:
1Cut meat into fairly large chunks and roll in seasoned flour.
2Brown in hot fat and remove from pot.
3Chop onions roughly and fry gently for 2-3 minutes.
4Return meat to pot.
5Add all other ingredients.
6Bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer gently for 2 hours or until meat is tender.
