Ingredients:
2 Loaves
3 cupSifted flour
1 1/2 tspSalt
3/4 tspSoda
1/2 cupShortening
1/4 cupSugar
1/4 cupMolasses
1 Egg, unbeaten
1 1/2 cupSour milk or buttermilk
1 1/2 cupRaisins, chopped
1 1/2 cupCurrants
1/4 cupChopped citron or chopped
-candied lemon rind
Procedures:
1Preheat oven to 325°F.
2Sift together the flour, salt and soda.
3Cream together the shortening and sugar and the molasses.
4Beat in the egg.
5Alternately add the dry ingredients and sour milk; stir in the fruit.
6Pour the batter into 2 greased 8 x 4 x 2 ?inch loaf pans and bake 75 minutes.
