Irish farmhouse loaf

Ingredients:
8 ozFlour
4 ozSugar
8 ozMixed dried fruit
1/2 xGrated rind of a lemon
2 tbspButter
1/2 tspSalt
2 tspBaking powder
1 pinchBaking soda
1 xEgg, beaten
1 1/4 cupButtermilk
Procedures:
1Mix the flour, sugar, fruit, lemon rind, butter, baking powder and soda.
2Add the beaten egg and the buttermilk to make a nice soft dough; beat well and pour into a greased 2-pound loaf pan.
3Bake at 300°F for 1 hour, or until it tests done with a skewer.
