Ingredients:
PUDDING
1/2 cupButter
2 Eggs
1 cupMolasses
2 cupFinely chopped dried figs
1/2 tspGrated lemon peel
1 cupButtermilk
2 1/2 cupSifted flour
1/2 tspBaking soda
2 tspBaking powder
1 tspGround ginger
1 tspSalt
HOT WINE SAUCE
1/2 cupButter
1 cupSugar
2 Eggs
3/4 cupDry sherry
1 tspGrated lemon peel
1/4 tspNutmeg
Procedures:
1Pudding: cream butter until soft.
2Beat in eggs and molasses until fluffy.
3Stir in figs, lemon peel and buttermilk.
4Resift flour with soda, baking powder, ginger and salt.
5Stir dry ingredients into pudding mixture.
6Pour into greased 9 inch tube pan.
7bake at 325 degrees 1 hour until done.
8Meanwhile, to make sauce, cream butter and sugar until light.
9Beat in eggs.
10Stir in sherry, lemon peel and nutmeg.
11Shortly before serving, beat sauce over hot water in double boiler.
12Heat thoroughly.
13Serve with hot pudding.
