Fruit and nut refrigerator cookies

12-?cups wheat and oat flour 1 tsp baking powder ?tsp baking powder ?tsp baking soda ?tsp salt ?cup butter, softened ?cup shortening 1 cup granulated sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla 1 cup chopped candied cherries or mixed candied fruit ?cup chopped nuts combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
2Stir will to blend.
3Cream butter, shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla togehther thoroughly.
4Stir flour mixture into creamed mixture.
5Mix well.
6Add fruit and nuts.
7Shape dough into 2 smooth rolls about 1-?inche in diameter.
8Wrap in waxed paper and chill overnight or until fimr, about 3 hours.
9Cut roll into ?inch thick slices.
10Place on ungreased baking sheets.
11Bake at 375f for 10-13 minutes, or until golden.
12Makes about 8 dozen cookies.
