Ingredients:
1 cupWater
Pickling spice to include
Cloves and cinnamon (whole)
6 cupSugar
1 cupVinegar
Procedures:
1Cover 3 quarts figs with 2 quarts boiling water and allow to stand 5 minutes.
2Make syrup out of above ingredents (spices should be in a bag made of cheesecloth.
3Drain figs.
4Boil in syrup 3 consecutive days 10 minutes each day, then pack into jars to within ?inch of top.
5Put on cap, screw band firmly tight.
6Process in boiling water bath 10 minutes.
