| pint | Blueberries | | 1
| pint | Strawberries | | 1/4
| cup | Sugar | | 3
| tbsp | Minced Sweet Onion | | 1
| tbsp | Blueberry Or Raspberry | | | -Vinegar Or Lemon Juice | | 1
| tsp | Freshly Ground Black Pepper | | | Hot Pepper Sauce, To Taste | | 1/4
| cup | Sliced Or Slivered Almonds | | | -Toasted |

Procedures:
| 1 | Rinse the blueberries and strawberries, then dry on paper towels. | | 2 | Pick over the berries. | | 3 | Hull the strawberries and cut into quarters. | | 4 | In a bowl combine the blueberries, strawberries, sugar, onion, vinegar, pepper and hot pepper sauce. | | 5 | Mix well and refrigerate for at least one hour. | | 6 | Just before serving, stir in the almonds. | | 7 | Serve over fruit sorbet or as a condiment with poultry or pork. | | 8 | from the food column of the denver post magazine section of 07-13-94 |
