Ingredients:

| tbsp | Baking soda | | 1/2
| cup | Butter, softened | | 1/4
| cup | Sugar, granulated | | 1
| each | Egg, large | | 1 1/4
| cup | Flour, unbleached | | 1/2
| tbsp | Salt | | 1/2
| cup | Brown sugar, firmly packed | | 1/2
| tbsp | Vanilla extract | | 1/2
| cup | Nuts, chopped |

Procedures:
| 1 | * use 1 10-oz bag of nestles toll house mint-chocolate chips divided in half for this recipe. | | 2 | ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++ preheat oven to 375 °F. | | 3 | Melt over hot (not boiling) water, ?cup of the mint-chocolate chips; stir until smooth. | | 4 | Remove from heat; cool to room temperature. | | 5 | In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. | | 6 | In a large bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, sugar, and vanilla extract; beat until creamy. | | 7 | Add melted chips and egg; beat well. | | 8 | Gradually blend in the flour mixture. | | 9 | Stir in remaining ?cup of mint-chocolate chips and nuts. | | 10 | Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. | | 11 | Bake at 375 °F. | | 12 | For 8 to 10 minutes. | | 13 | Allow to stand 2 to 3 minutes; remove from cookie sheets. | | 14 | Cool completely on wire racks. |
