Ingredients:
6 Eggs
1 cupSugar
1 tspAnise
1 1/2 cupFlour
1/2 cupCandied cherries (chopped)
3/4 cupChopped nuts
1/2 cupButter or margarine
2 cupFlour
4 tspBaking powder
Procedures:
1Beat eggs until light and fluffy.
2Add sugar and flavoring.
3Add the first amount of flour into the mixture.
4Add chopped nuts and cherries and softened butter.
5Last stir in flour and baking powder into cake.
6Make 3 long loaves on a buttered and floured cookie sheet using a wooden spoon.
7Indent slightly in the middle of each.
8Bake at 350 °F for 25 minutes.
9Remove from oven and cut each loaf in ?inch slices.
10Return to pan and toast on both sides of 475 degrees until brown (about 5 minutes).
11Watch closely so they don"t burn.
