Amaretto compote

Ingredients:
2 cupWater
1 cupPitted prunes
1 cupDried appricots
2 medRed pears, cored and sliced
1/4 cupSugar
1 cupAmaretto
1 tspShredded lemon peel
Procedures:
1In a medium saucepan combine water, prunes, and apricots.
2Bring to a boil.
3Remove from heat and let stand for 15 min. drain, reserving ?cup liquid.
4Leave prunes and apricots on the side.
5In the ?cup liquid, combine pears, amaretto, sugar and lemon peel.
6Cover and simmer 10 minutes until the pears are crisp-tender.
7Stir in prunes and apricots and heat through.
8Serve warm over vanilla ice-cream or frozen yogurt.
9Also makes a wonderful topping for pound cake.
