| 2
| lbs | Asparagus, fresh | | 3/4
| cup | Oil | | 2
| tbsp | Sesame seed | | 1
| | Egg yolk | | 2
| tbsp | White wine vinegar | | 1
| tsp | Honey | | 1
| | Clove garlic, minced | | 1
| tbsp | Soy sauce | | | Salt to taste |
|
Procedures:
| 1 | Cook asparagus to just barely done and refrigerate. | | 2 | To prepare dip, heat ?cup oil in saucepan over medium low heat and stir in sesame seeds. | | 3 | Cook until seeds are golden, about three to five minutes. | | 4 | Add remaining oil and remove from heat. | | 5 | Allow to cool. | | 6 | Whisk together egg, vinegar and honey. | | 7 | Slowly blend in a thin stream of the oil mixture. | | 8 | Blend in soy sauce and garlic. | | 9 | Add salt. | | 10 | Refrigerate, allowing flavors to blend. | | 11 | Notes : this recipe doubles easily and can also be served as a "salad" simply by using the sesame dip as a dressing for the chilled asparagus |
