Onion and apple casserole

Ingredients:
6 ea Medium onions
4 ea Medium apples
8 eachSlices bacon
1/2 cupSoft bread crumbs
3/4 cupHot stock or water
Procedures:
1Peel and cut the onions in 1/8 inch slices.
2Peel, core, and cut the apples into similar slices.
3Saute bacon and remove from the pan and mince.
4Take out two tablespoons of the bacon fat and toss the bread crumbs in the remainder.
5Grease a baking dish.
6Arrange the onions, apples, and bacon in alternate layers.
7Pour over hot stock or water.
8Cover the top with the bread crumbs.
9Cover the dish and bake it for 30 minutes at 375 degrees.
10Uncover and bake it about 15 minutes longer
