| 1 | Cook macaroni according to package directions. |
| 2 | in large saucepan, melt butter. |
| 3 | Add onion and cook until tender. |
| 4 | Stir in flour, salt. |
| 5 | Mustard, salt and pepper. |
| 6 | All milk slowly, stirring constantly, and cook until sauce is thickened and bubbly. |
| 7 | Add cheese and stir until melted. |
| 8 | Combine cooked macaroni and cheese mixture and mix well. |
| 9 | Pour into buttered casserole. |
| 10 | (i use one that"s about 12" square). |
| 11 | Top with topping and bake in 375 oven for 20 - 25 minutes. |
| 12 | to make topping: tear roll apart and use steel blade of food processor to chop into fine bread crumbs. |
| 13 | Melt better in small saucepan then add crumbs and toss until covered with butter. |
| 14 | Combine buttered crumbs with cheese and spread over casserole. |
| 15 | i generally serve this with sauteed kielbasa. |
