Ingredients:
3/4 cupWhite flour
3/4 cupWhole wheat flour
2/3 cupLightly toasted wheat germ
1/2 tspSalt
1/2 tspBaking soda
1 tspBaking powder
1/2 tspGround cinnamon
Egg
1/2 cupBrown sugar
1/2 cupSafflower oil
1 cupSourdough starter, room temp
1 cupUnsweetened thick applesauce
Procedures:
1Combine flours, wheat germ, salt, baking soda, baking powder and cinnamon and blen well.
2In lg bowl, beat egg lightly and blend in sugar and oil.
3Mix in starter and applesauce and mix well.
4Add mixture and stir just until dry ingredients are moistened.
5Spoon into 4 prepared ** #4 loaf pans and bake in oven preheated to 350°F for 50 mins or until bread tests done.
6Cool on wire rack 10 mins, turn out, turn right side up, remove waxed paper and cool.
7**to keep quick breads from sticking to pan, line pan with strip of waxed paper; oil pan, place paper in pan invert paper so that batter is on oiled surface.
