Ingredients:
1 packBaker's german's sweet choco
-ate (4 oz.)
1/2 cupWater, boiling
1 cupButter or margarine
2 cupSugar
4 Eggs, seperated
1 tspVanilla
2 cupFlour, all-purpose
1 tspBaking soda
1/2 tspSalt
1 cupButtermilk
Coconut-pecan frosting
Procedures:
1Fat grams per serving: approx. cook time: 30min melt chocolate in water; cool.
2Cream butter and sugar.
3Beat in egg yolks.
4Stir in vanilla and chocolate.
5Mix flour, soda and salt.
6Beat in flour mixture, alternately with buttermilk.
7Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; fold into batter.
8Pour batter into three 9-inch layer pans, lined on bottoms with waxed paper.
9Bake at 350 °F for 30 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly pressed in center.
10Cool 15 minutes; remove and cool on rack.
11Frost cake.
