New england clam chowder

Ingredients:
4 sliceBacon
3/4 tspSalt
2 Green Onions, Chopped
1/2 tspWhite Pepper
4 medPotatoes, Peeled
1 cupWhipping Cream
3 tbspAll-Purpose Flour
-Parsley, Chopped
2 cupMilk
-Basil Leaves
13 ozClams, Minced w/liquid
Procedures:
1Use a large, heavy saucepan.
2Yields 4 servings saute bacon until crisp.
3Add the green onions and potatoes.
4Saute for a few minutes.
5Sprinkle with flour.
6Add milk and stir to blend.
7Bring to a boil.
8Simmer, stirring, until potatoes are tender.
9(20 minutes).
10Add salt and pepper.
11Add the clams with their liquid.
12Add the whipping cream.
13Heat the soup, stirring, just until simmering.
14Do not boil or clams will toughen.
15Sprinkle with parsley and basil leaves.
16Serve at once.
