Hamburger barley vegetable soup

Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbsGround beef
6 cupWater
3 tspInstant beef bouillon
2 cupSliced carrots
1 1/2 cupCoarsely chopped onions
1 1/2 cupCoarsely chopped celery
1/2 cupCoarsely chopped green peppr
1/3 cupBarley
1 tspSalt
1/8 tspPepper
2 Bay leaves
1/4 cupCatsup
1 can(28 oz.)tomatoes, undrained
1 can(8 oz) tomato sauce
Procedures:
1In 5-quart dutch oven, brown ground beef (i use extra-lean): drain.
2Stir in remaining ingredients.
3Bring to a boil.
4Reduce heat: cover and simmer 1 hour or until vegetables and barley are tender.
5Remove bay leaves.
6Tip: flavor improves if chilled overnight and reheated before serving.
