Lentil vegetable soup

Ingredients:
3 tbspOlive oil
1 eachGreen bell pepper, chopped
8 cupWater
1 1/2 cupLentils
1 cupDry white wine
3 eachCelery, sliced
2 eachZucchini, sliced
1 tbspBasil, dried, crumbled
1 eachOnion, chopped
3 eachCl Garlic, minced
3 canTomato sauce, (8 oz. cans)
1 cupBrown rice
3 eachCarrots, sliced
2 eachPotatoes, red, diced
1 tbspThyme, dried, crumbled
Procedures:
1Heat oil in heavy large saucepan over medium-high heat.
2Add onions, green bepper and garlic and saute until tender, about 5 minutes.
3Add remaining ingredients.
4Cover and simmer until ltentils and rice are tender and soup is thick, about 1 hour, 15 minutes.
5Season with salt and pepper.
