Ingredients:
1/2 cupChopped salt pork with lean
1 medOnion, chopped
2 cupDiced potato
2 cupWater
1 medGreen pepper, diced
1/2 cupChopped celery
1 tspSalt
1 Bay leaf
2 cupMilk, divided
1/4 cupAll-purpose flour
2 cupFresh corn
1/2 cupHalf and half
Procedures:
1Saute pork in a large dutch oven until crisp; add onion and saute until tender; add diced potato, water, green pepper, celery, salt and bay leaf; simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender; combine ?cup milk and flour, stirring well; add to potato mixture; stir in remaining milk; cook, stirring constantly, until thickened; add corn and half and half; cook, stirring constantly, until thoroughly heated through; remove and discard bay leaf.
