| cup | 20 oz tomatoes | | 1
| | Bay leaf | | 1
| cup | Coarsely chopped bacon | | 1/4
| cup | Water | | 1
| | Apple, peel, core, sliced | | 5
| | Peppercorns | | 2
| cup | Diced polish sausage | | 1
| | Steamed potatoes |

Procedures:
| 1 | Soak the mushrooms in ?cup water for 2 hours. | | 2 | Bring to boil and simmer for ?hour. | | 3 | Slice. | | 4 | Wash the sauerkraut and squeeze it. | | 5 | Add mushrooms and the liquid in which they were cooked. | | 6 | Add the apples, the tomatoes, peppercorns, and bay leaf. | | 7 | Cover and simmer for 1 hour and 15 minutes. | | 8 | Add the meat and the bacon, simmer 1 hour longer. | | 9 | It is best reheated. | | 10 | Served with steamed potatoes or rye bread. |
