| cup | Dark corn syrup | | 1/4
| cup | Dry red wine | | 1/2
| | Stp dried oregano | | 1/2
| tsp | Dried basil | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 1/4
| tsp | Ground black pepper | | 1
| | Broiler-fryer, cut into | | | -pieces (3 Lbs) |

Procedures:
| 1 | Prepare grill for cooking. | | 2 | Heat oil in saucepan over medium heat. | | 3 | Add onion and garlic; cook, stirring occasionally, until tender, about 2 minutes. | | 4 | Add remaining ingredients, except the chicken. | | 5 | Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. | | 6 | Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. | | 7 | Grill chicken about 6 inches from medium-hot coals for 30 minutes, turning frequently. | | 8 | Brush with some of the sauce. | | 9 | Continue cooking chicken, turning frequently and brushing with sauce, about 15 minutes more until meat is juicy and tender. | | 10 | Reheat remaining sauce and serve with the chicken. | | 11 | Makes 4 servings. | | 12 | [woman"s day meals in minutes august 1985] |
