Plattsburgh tomato beef soup

Ingredients:
1 lbsGround beef
1 cupChopped onion
1/2 cupChopped celery
1 tbspButter or margarine
3 cupTomatoes
2 Beef bouillion cubes
1/3 cupReg. uncooked rice
1 tspSalt
1/2 tspChili powder
1 Bay leaf
3 1/2 cupWater
Procedures:
1Saute beef, onion and celery in melted butter until meat is browned.
2Stir in remaining ingredients.
3Bring to a boil.
4Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
5Remove bay leaf.
6Makes 2 quarts of hearty soup.
