Ingredients:

| cup | Salad oil | | 1/2
| cup | Flour | | 1
| tsp | Salt | | 3
| lbs | Cut up chicken | | 1
| | Green bell pepper, cut into | | | -strips | | 2
| med | Onions, quartered | | 1
| | Clove garlic, finely chopped | | 1
| | 15 oz can tomato sauce | | 1/2
| cup | Water | | 1
| tsp | Salt | | 1
| tsp | Oregano | | 1/4
| tsp | Black pepper | | 1/4
| tsp | Thyme | | 1
| can | Mushroom stems and pieces |

Procedures:
| 1 | Heat salad oil in large skillet over medium heat. | | 2 | Mix flour and 1 teaspoon salt; coat chicken pieces. | | 3 | Cook chicken in oil 15 to 20 minutes or until brown. | | 4 | Drain fat from skillet. | | 5 | Add green bell pepper and onions. | | 6 | Mix garlic, tomato sauce, water, 1 tsp salt, oregano, pepper, thyme and mushrooms with liquid; pour over chicken and heat to boiling. | | 7 | Reduce heat; cover and simmer 45 minutes or until chicken is tender. | | 8 | Serves 4 to 5. |
