| lbs | Chourico (sliced ?inch | | | -pieces) | | 1
| lbs | Shrimp, cleaned/de-veined | | 1/2
| | Stick butter | | 8
| oz | Kale | | 1
| cup | Chopped onion | | 3/4
| cup | Chopped bell pepper | | 1
| cup | Chopped fresh parsley | | 2
| | Cloves garlic minced | | 1
| | (6 oz.) can tomato paste | | 1
| large | Bay leaf | | 1/4
| tsp | Thyme | | 1/2
| tsp | Pepper | | 2
| tsp | Salt | | 1/4
| tsp | Tabasco | | 1/2
| tbsp | Gumbo File' Powder | | 1
| tbsp | Curry powder |

Procedures:
| 1 | In a large pot, cover chicken with water, add celery, onion, garlic, and boil until tender, about 1 hour. | | 2 | Reserve stock. | | 3 | Remove meat from bones. | | 4 | In 5 cups stock, cook rice until all liquid is absorbed, about 25 minutes. | | 5 | In dutch oven, fry chourico and shrimp until lightly browned, 3-5 minutes. | | 6 | Remove meat. | | 7 | Add butter to pan and saute onion, pepper and parsley until tender, about 3 minutes. | | 8 | Add chourico, chicken and shrimp, stir in garlic, curry powder, tomato paste, bay leaf, thyme, salt and pepper, tabasco and remaining chicken stock. | | 9 | Bring to boil. | | 10 | Add rice and kale, mix thouroughly. | | 11 | Cook over low heat 15 minutes, stirring frequently. | | 12 | Tomatoes and file" powder are added 5 minutes before serving. | | 13 | Season to taste |
