Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbsGround Beef, *
1/4 cupOnion, Finely Chopped, 1 Sm.
1 tbspSalt
1 tbspWorcestershire Sauce
1/4 tbspPepper
1/2 cupParmesan Cheese, Grated
1/4 cupCornflake Crumbs
1 ea Egg, Large, Slightly Beaten
8 ozTomato Sauce, 1 can
1 tbspItalian Seasoning
6 ea Mozzarella Cheese, Slices, **
Procedures:
1* if the ground beef is lean, it may be necessary to add a small amount of shortening or salad oil to the skillet when browning the patties.
2** cheese slices should be 3 inches square.
3Mix the meat, onion, salt, worcestershire sauce, and pepper together.
4Shape the mixture into 6 patties, each about ?inch thick.
5Mix parmesan cheese and cornflake crumbs.
6Dip the patties into the egg, then coat them with the cornflake mixture.
7Brown the patties in a large skillet over medium heat, turning once.
8Drain off the excess fat.
9Mix the tomato sauce and italian seasoning and pour over the patties in the skillet.
10Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
11Top each patty with a slice of cheese and cover.
12Heat until the cheese is melted, about 2 minutes.
13Serve the leftover sauce over the patties
