Ingredients:
2 Ham shanks
3 quartWater
2 Stalks celery
1 Garlic clove
12 ozPackage portuguese
-sausage, cut into ?inch
-pieces
1 Carrot cubed
1 largeOnion, cut in wedges
1 canStewed tomatoes
8 ozTomato sauce
3 largePotatoes, sliced
30 ozKidney beans
1/2 Head cabbage, cut in wedges
1 dashPepper and paprika
Salt, if desired
Procedures:
1Simmer ham shanks in water 1-?to 2 hours or until meat falls off bones.
2Remove bones.
3Add sausage.
4Simmer 20-30 minutes.
5Add carrots,onions, tomatoes and tomato sauce; cook until carrots are at parboil stage.
6Add potatoes, beans, cabbage and seasonings.
7Simmer until vegetables are done.
