Ingredients:
| 1/2
| cup | Butter | | 4
| oz | Unsweetened chocolate | | 1 3/4
| cup | Sugar | | 4
| | Eggs | | 1
| cup | Flour | | 1
| tsp | Vanilla | | | LEMON FROSTING | | 1/4
| cup | Butter | | 1
| oz | Unsweetened chocolate | | 2
| cup | Confectioners' sugar | | 1
| | Egg | | 1 1/2
| tsp | Vanilla | | 1 1/2
| tsp | Lemon juice | | 1
| cup | Chopped pecans |

Procedures:
| 1 | Preheat oven to 350 deg. | | 2 | Melt butter and choc. | | 3 | In a saucepan or dbl. | | 4 | Boiler over simmering water. | | 5 | Let cool. | | 6 | Add sugar and eggs, one at a time, to choc. | | 7 | Mixture, mixing well after each addition. | | 8 | Add flour and vanilla, blending well. | | 9 | Pour batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13 in. pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until brownies just begin to pull away from sides of pan. | | 10 | Brownies should still be moist. | | 11 | To prepare lemon frosting: melt ?c. butter and 1 oz. choc. | | 12 | In saucepan or dbl boiler over simmering water. | | 13 | Add 2 cups confect. | | 14 | Sugar, mixing well. | | 15 | Add egg, vanilla, and lemon juice, blending well. | | 16 | Mix in pecans. | | 17 | Frosting will harden as it cools. | | 18 | If thicker frosting is desired, add more confect. | | 19 | Sugar. | | 20 | Let cool, cover with lemon frosting and cut into 1 ?x 2 inch bars. | | 21 | "the 55 best brownies in the world". | | 22 | Judy garnett raleigh, nc pjxg05a |
