Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbsGround beef, finely chop
2 tbspShortening
2 tbspButter
1 tspGarlic powder
1/4 tspPepper
2 tbspChili powder
2 tbspDry mustard
2 tbspInstant minced onions
-or 2 med onions, chop fine
3 ozCan tomato puree, opt
3/4 cupWater
Prepared mustard
Chopped onions for garnish
Procedures:
1In a saucepan, cook the ground beef with shortening and butter, breaking it up with a fork, until it is no longer pink.
2Add the garlic powder, pepper, chili powder, mustard, onions, tomato puree and water.
3Simmer uncovered over low heat.
4Serve over hot dogs.
5Add prepared mustard and chopped onions to taste.
6* note: ask your butcher to use the finest blade when grinding.
7Or you can process the meat in a food processor
