Poires au vin rouge (pears in red wine)

Ingredients:
4 largeOr 6 small pears
1 cupBurgundy or claret wine
3 Tablesp. granulated sugar
Procedures:
11 1" stick cinnamon small piece of lemon rind Pare pears; leave small ones whole; halve and core larger pears.
2In skillet, combine wine, sugar, cinnamon, lemon rind.
3Bring to boil.
4Add pears; cover; simmer about 40 min. or until pears are tender, turning once.
5Discard cinnamon, lemon rind.
6Serve pears with syrup, either warm or cold.
7Makes 4 to 6 servings.
